Naturally, rice cultivation is unfortunately not possible here in our heath region. That is why the rice for our Demeter rice flour comes from biodynamic farming in the warm and humid regions of Europe. As far away as necessary, as close as possible — that is our philosophy for avoiding unnecessary transport routes. This helps protect the environment and the climate.

That is also why we are committed to 100% organic agriculture, preferably biodynamic farming. Demeter represents the highest organic standard we have. A core principle of Demeter farming is the building of humus. Humus is not only rich in nutrients for plants — it also stabilises the soil and stores CO2. This is an important benefit for our future, as agriculture increasingly faces extreme weather conditions and heavy rainfall, while naturally binding CO2 that would otherwise contribute to climate change.
