Our raw cocoa powder comes from the finest Arriba Nacional beans from Ecuador and Forastero beans from Ghana/Ivory Coast, making it especially recommended for anyone starting out in the world of raw cocoa.

It can be used just like regular cocoa powder. Unlike cocoa mass, cocoa powder contains less fat, as some is extracted during the pressing process. With its beautiful chocolatey flavor, our raw cocoa powder is ideal for making smoothies, hot chocolate, and fine desserts and baked goods. Raw Cocoa Powder Cadmium Content
Since January 2019, the EU has set the allowed cadmium content in cocoa powder to 0.6 mg/kg. Cadmium is a heavy metal naturally present in soil and therefore also in some plants and foods. The cocoa plant is particularly prone to absorbing nutrients from the soil, which can include cadmium depending on soil conditions. Especially in South American soils, natural cadmium levels can be high (e.g., Peruvian volcanic soil). To meet EU standards and protect our customers, we offer a blend of raw Ecuadorian (relatively high natural cadmium content) and West African cocoa powder. So it is not 100% raw cocoa powder, but the different cocoa types complement each other beautifully in flavor and retain their authentic cocoa character!
