Whole Cocoa Fruit Chocolate from Vivani – without added sugar

This chocolate is a milestone in the organic sector because it is made 100% from the cocoa fruit! It does not taste as bitter as 100% cocoa bars, as it consists of 27% cocoa fruit flakes. These are made from cocoa pulp (the flesh surrounding the beans), which is usually discarded as a by-product after harvest. We, however, use this pulp in the form of dried cocoa fruit flakes. They give the chocolate a fruity, natural sweetness.

The cocoa fruit flakes are produced directly on the cocoa farms in Ghana. Fresh cocoa pulp is pressed immediately after harvest using mobile, solar-powered equipment and then processed in the nearby KOA factory.

By using cocoa fruit flakes, the “Whole Cocoa Fruit” chocolate contains no added sugar. Instead, this superfood provides beneficial nutrients directly from the cocoa fruit: flavanols, vitamins, and minerals.
