What is yuzu?
Yuzu (citrus x juno) is an Asian citrus fruit with an intense, fresh, and unique aroma.
The appearance of the yuzu fruit resembles a mix between a lemon and a mandarin. The taste of the juice is a combination of pleasant acidity, gentle sweetness, and a subtle bitterness with a distinctive aromatic profile.
We source the juice naturally from organically grown fruits from Japan. Its intense, fresh, and unique aroma pairs perfectly with both cold and hot beverages (for example with ginger), as well as in dressings, fish dishes, and of course desserts.
This citrus fruit is cultivated and used in cooking in Korea, China, and Japan. It is believed that the fruit was already cultivated and used in Chinese cuisine several thousand years ago.
Use of yuzu juice
The fine organic yuzu direct juice can basically be used like lemon juice. Very simple.
Add a splash to hot ginger tea or cold water. Or use it in salad dressings, over fish, with fennel, or in fruit salads…
In Asian cuisine, yuzu is often used together with salt, pepper, and chili for seasoning or marinating. It is also used to prepare yuzu ponzu – a citrus-based seasoning sauce. Yuzu aroma also works wonderfully in soups, dressings, noodle dishes, and fish recipes. It also adds a special note to desserts, ice cream, cocktails, beverages, smoothies, and many other dishes.
